Lunch recommendations
-
Layla's Bakery
Layla’s has great sandwiches, cookies, baked goods, and coffee/tea drinks! They also have a nice patio to sit and eat outside.
-
Vespa Café
Vespa has great made-to-order pizzas, as well as sandwiches. Everything is fresh and local, and delicious!
-
The Angel Kitchen
Serving hot noodle bowls, this is a great place to head if you’re hungry.
-
Whole Foods
Definitely not local, but Whole Foods does have good sandwiches, and lots of different drinks to choose from.
-
The Chocolate Tree
A whole Sedona mood, Chocolate Tree has a beautiful garden to sit in and relax and enjoy wonderful drinks and food (the pachamama latte with the mushroom fantasy is my personal favorite!
-
Local Juicery
Another Sedona mood. Local Juicery is better for a light meal of smoothies and avocado toast than anything heavy.
Trail recommendations - lighter and easier
-
Fay Canyon
Fay Canyon is one of my favorite trails! It is just over an hour in and out, and flat the entire way. Even though you don’t have to go far, there are great red rock views here :) There is an optional rock scramble at the end of the trail if you’d like some privacy.
-
Skywalker Trail
Skywalker trail is nice and easy and has great views of some of the bigger monuments. If parking on the road is full, you can park in the parking lot behind you (by Schuerman Trailhead).
-
Airport Mesa
If you’re lucky enough to get a spot at the lower lot, follow the trail up and head over to the right and loop around for amazing red rock views. If you start at the upper lot, use the AllTrails app to navigate around the Airport Mesa loop.
Trail recommendations - more athletic and vigorous
-
Doe Mountain
On the Doe Mountain trail you can expect to gain about 500 feet of elevation in the first 3/4 of a mile to get to the top of the mesa. From there, do your best to navigate around whilst maintaining knowledge of where you entered. Lots to explore at the top!
**great place for sighting hot air balloons in the morning around 6:30AM
-
Boynton Canyon
Boynton Canyon is known as one of the main vortex sites, this trail is long and has good terrain variation. This is also where the subway cave is located, in case you want to try and find it.
-
Munds Wagon Trail
Munds Wagon Trail is 6.4 miles long, with about 1300 feet of elevation gain, this is a great one to start nice an early and use the AllTrails app to navigate. The view from the top is well worth it!
Scenic outlooks for sunset (and sunrise)
(Check times and plan to arrive about one hour prior)
-
Secret Slick Rock
Secret Slick Rock is one of the most photographed places in Sedona (and the heading of this page). Follow the trail (not the gravel road) down about 3/4 of a mile to a great big landing rock. Use the AllTrails app to guide yourself down.
**great place for sighting hot air balloons in the morning around 6:30AM
-
Yavapai Vista
Yavapai Vista has great views of some of the vortex monuments. Hike up to a landing site to see the setting sun light up Bell Rock, Courthouse Butte, as well as all the mountains.
-
Doe Mountain
With Doe Mountain, you’ll gain about 500 feet of elevation in the first 3/4 of a mile to get to the top of the mesa. From there, do your best to navigate around whilst maintaining knowledge of where you entered. Lots to explore at the top!
**great place for sighting hot air balloons in the morning around 6:30AM
Creek access
-
Crescent Moon Ranch
If visiting in the summer, arrive early to get parking. Crescent Moon Ranch is a private park charges about $11 per car to enter. Can swim in the creek here (as well as hike all the way up to Cathedral Rock). Can also access here from the Baldwin Trailhead.
-
Grasshopper Point
Grasshopper Point offers creek access for swimming, hiking trails, and picnic sites. Definitely fills up in the summer, so arrive early.
-
Chavez Crossing
Chavez Crossing has easy and chill creek access that is often clothing optional (up to your comfort level). Park on the dirt road, and explore the area.
Crystal Shops
-
The Dragon's Den
The Dragon’s Den has so much good stuff! Crystals, local artisanal crafts, and really great clothing too.
-
Crystal Magic
Crystal Magic is one of the most well-rounded metaphysical shops we have in Sedona. My favorite offering is their oracle decks, and the sample decks offered so you can try out the cards.
-
Crystal Gratitude
Crystal Gratitude has a great selection of crystals, as well as singing bowls and instruments. I bought my drum here.
More shopping.
There are a couple of areas around Sedona where you can go shopping.
Tlaquepaque offers old Mexican charm and a bunch of shops, galleries, and The Chai Spot, if you need a break from it all. You can also walk down by the creek here, and June - October the Farmers Market is here on Fridays from 8-1.
Uptown is a section of town that has a lot of different shops and restaurants. You won’t find many locals here, but you’re welcome to park your car and wander around.
Wellness practitioners.
From body workers, sound healers, reiki practitioners, and more. Let me know if you’re interested in a connection
